NBSA ED PALUBINSKAS PAGE

Ed Palubinskas

“The Surgeon General of Free Throw”, Eddie P is universally known as the best active free throw shooter on the planet. Still competing today, Ed is shooting over 99% in competition and exhibitions. He is one of the founders and a Board Member of the NBSA.

Ed was hired by Orlando Magic center, Dwight Howard, to be his shooting coach for the 2011-12 season. At the time Ed was commissioned Dwight was shooting 59% from the line. Within 7 days Dwight hit 92% from the line and regularly stayed at this high level.

Another player worth noting is Brandon Bass who played for several teams including Dallas mavericks and Boston Celtics. When we started he was shooting around the NBA average of 72%. BY the time we finished he was shooting mid nineties every day. He shot 98% from the line in the NBA playoffs with Dallas Mavericks and became the all time leaing freethrow shooter with the Boston Celtics in NBA playoffs with 93.1%. Plus his mid range % was around the high 70's and low 80's.

Ed has many innovative instructional aides to his credit. He has produced some of the best DVDs on the art of shooting and he invented the “Smart Ball” – to assist players of all ages to improve shooting skill. Basically the Smartball is like a reference book in the palm of your hand (pun intended) with instructions you can read as well as duplicate finger placement as well as finger pad pressure etc See more at http://www.freethrowmaster.net.

He also has written a very in depth book called "FREETHROW SHOOTING - MISS-TERY TO MASTERY". Putting your life on the line. Available on Amazon.com.

Despite his many shooting accomplishments, Eddie P is probably best known for coaching Shaquille O’Neal with the Lakers in 2000-1 when they won the NBA championship. While under Ed’s tutelage, Shaq’s free throw success rate went from 38% to 69.8%, in one season during his Los Angeles Laker tenure.

Other players male players Ed has worked with with great success were Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher, Mark Madsen, Courtney Lee, Ronald Dupree, Marcus Thornton, Shawn Elliott (SAN ANTONIO MVP finals. )

The WNBA players he worked with some of which were MVP's like Lisa Leslie (LA Sparks), Lauren Jackson (Seattle Storm)

In 2009, Coach Graff hired Ed and after working with Ed in pre-season, the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA set a new pro free throw shooting percentage of over 85%. Includes the NBA also.

He worked with the Australian National womens team after which they won the World Games Gold medal. First time in History Australia won gold in either mens or womens international competitions.

Some countries he has worked in are Colombia, Philippines, Italy, Australia, China, Germany, Lithuania, Morocco, Bahrain, Tunisia, Mexico, Great Britain, etc.
